Ground‑covers affect the activity density of ground‑dwelling predators and their impact on the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata.
In this study the FFIPM team investigated the effect of ground-covers on the activity density and abundance of ground-dwelling predators associated with the reduction of Ceratitis capitata population. The study highlights the key role of ground predators as a strong and sustainable conservation biological control method that should be taken into consideration for the management of Tephritidae in fruit orchards.
